I know it isn't just me. That mothers across the ages get sick and tired of hearing "Mom..." before EVERY single sentence. And I don't know if it is even that, or if it is that they wait. They actually wait until I say "what?". This has become my NUMBER 1 pet peeve!!! Just hearing mom a 100,000x's a day isn't the issue. It is saying "what?" 100,000x's a day. And sometimes I say 'what' and they just say mom again! Does anyone else feel my pain?
I have been trying to explain to the kids that I am the only person here, and that I hear everything they say. That they don't have to call my attention each time. But it doesn't make a difference. However, today at lunch, he did it again. Then he told dad, "I say 'mom...' and mom says 'arrgh, now I have to say what?'". So he does hear me, he understands my frustration, he just doesn't want to stop. : )
